Another True Crime Title for Barricade Books

A COP’S TALE by Jim O’Neil with Mel Fazzino is now in bookstores and the author’s first signing was a big success. Since the authors are Long Islanders, Barricade launched the book with a signing at the Book Revue in Huntington – one of the top independent booksellers in the East. This memoir by an ex-NYC-detective has more true adventures than you might believe one cop could have been involved in. O’Neil was a cop in the wild days when heads were banged and sawed off shotguns were legitimately carried weapons. He was responsible for breaking the Black Liberation Army case (that made him a Sergeant) and during the Harlem drug wars he was head of the Homicide Task Force. This is as good a cop story as you will read. I love this book – Jim is the real deal NYC cop and could be the prototype for every good guy movie cop. The book is dedicated to his wife, Peggy, who finally got him to retire after 21 years. More than 80 people turned out at Book Revue and selling nearly that many books makes me a happy publisher. Some who had already read the book told the authors they had a hard time putting it down which more than pleased Mel and Jim. Thank you for the true story about the land of beauty.But I felt sad to see the way Earth had been defaced the by the big mining companies took all the earth treasures then turn the pristine environment into waste land and toxic lifeless river for the local people put up with their health problems. And now they say they going start all over again. Greedy people will never satisfy, they don’t care about what they could do to the earth we all living on.
